This is a nice double specimen of the blind trilobite, Ampyxina bellatula, from the Ordovician of Missouri. At one time, these trilobites were found somewhat prolifically, but not anymore. These trilobites are outstretched and exhibit very fine detail. The individual segments of the trilobites are well defined and the bulbous glabellas are nicely displayed. The bugs have great color and contrast and are well positioned in a ''follow the leader'' pose on the matrix plate. This is an excellent double specimen of a trilobite that is becoming increasingly difficult to find.
