Here is a very fine specimen of Changaspis placenta from the Cambrian of China. This type of trilobite has many thoracic segments with long pleural spines. This specimen is wonderfully articulated and exhibits great detail. The short, flaring genal spines are intact and the extremely long pleural spines are beautifully displayed. The small pygidium is present and tightly attached. The trilobite is well centered on a large (2.6" X 2.6"), natural plate of matrix. This is an excellent specimen of this spinose trilobite from the Cambrian.
