Here is an excellent specimen of Reedops deckeri from the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma. It has been meticulously prepared, under a microscope, in the EXTINCTIONS prep lab here in Colorado. This Phacopid trilobite is wonderfully outstretched (unusual) and is nicely inflated. The trilobite has great detail - the very fine pustules on the entire exoskeleton are still intact. The large compound eyes are well preserved and the individual lenses of the eyes are easily seen. The bug has great color and contrast and is well positioned on the large plate of limestone. This is a beautiful example of an uncommon prone Reedops from Oklahoma.
