Here is a very nice specimen of Bumastus ioxus from the Silurian of New York. This specimen is quite large for the species. The bug is very prone and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present although the right cheek is slightly pushed. The trilobite is somewhat inflated and exhibits fine detail. The eyes are easily seen and the thoracic segments are very distinct. The fossil has great color and contrast and is well positioned on the semi-squared plate of shale. This is a very displayable example of Bumastus ioxus from the Rochester Shale.
