Here is a nice specimen of Ceraurus sp. from the Ordovician of Canada. This trilobite is nicely outstretched and somewhat inflated. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits excellent detail. The pustulose nature of the cephalon is easily seen. The sweeping genal spines and the long pygidial spines are well displayed. The cream-colored fossil contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. The trilobite is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate of limestone. This is a very fine example of one of the most popular trilobites among collectors.
