Here is a great example of Kainops raymondi from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This genus of trilobite differs from Paciphacops in having a larger number of eye facets. This trilobite is almost perfectly prone and wonderfully articulated. It is very 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The individual eye lenses are clearly defined and the pustules on the large glabella are easily seen. The thick-shelled exoskeleton has superb, dark-caramel coloration and it contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. It is well positioned on the natural block of limestone that also contains an unidentified brachiopod and a bryozoan colony. This is a very ''clean and crisp'' specimen of Kainops from the Haragan Formation.
