Here is a very handsome specimen of Crotalocephalus gibbus from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is outstretched and EXTREMELY 3-dimensional. The bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits superb detail. The very small eyes are easily seen and the short genal spines are quite evident. The triangular pleurons terminate in sharp points and the upswept pygidial spines are intact. The fossil has great, natural, brownish-black color and contrasts well with the matrix. The trilobite is almost perfectly centered on the LARGE, rounded slab of limestone. This is a remarkable specimen of this unusual-looking trilobite.
