This is a very attractive specimen of Ceraurus sp. from the Ordovician of Canada. This trilobite is almost perfectly outstretched and somewhat inflated. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. The sweeping genal spines and the long pygidial spines are beautifully displayed. The granulose nature of the cephalon is well defined, and the small eyes are easily seen. The bug has excellent color and contrast and is nicely positioned on the somewhat rounded plate that also contains a crinoid stem. This is a ''pleasing'' example of one of the most popular trilobites among collectors.
