This is a very good example of Phacops speculator from the Devonian of Morocco. This complete trilobite is extremely 3-dimensional and nicely outstretched. The glabella displays the coarse granulation typical of the species, and many of the individual lenses of the large compound eyes can be seen. The brownish-black color of the bug contrasts wonderfully with the grayish-brown matrix. It is well centered on the block of dense limestone. This is a very affordable specimen of Phacops speculator from the Atlas Mountains.
