Here is a very pretty specimen of Phacops speculator from the Devonian of Morocco. The trilobite is nicely outstretched and wonderfully articulated. The bug is extremely inflated and exhibits fine detail. Most of the individual lenses of the eyes are clearly defined and the coarse granulations on the large glabella are easily seen. The thick-shelled, ebony-colored trilobite contrasts beautifully with the lighter-colored matrix. It is nicely positioned on the oval plate of dense limestone. This is an extremely nice Phacops for the money.
