This is an excellent example of Asaphiscus wheeleri from the Cambrian of Utah. This trilobite is complete and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached - which is somewhat unusual. This specimen has been carefully prepared with an air-abrasive machine to reveal the fine detail. The trilobite has beautiful, shiny black exoskeleton that contrasts well with the grayish matrix. It is nicely presented on the natural plate of shale. This is a very appealing specimen of Asaphiscus wheeleri from Utah.
