This is a beautiful trilobite fossil. It is a Ceraurus sp. from St. Petersburg, Russia. This specimen is smaller than most other Russian Ceraurus, so we are not positive about the specific species. This trilobite is nicely outstretched and wonderfully articulated. The striking butterscotch coloration contrasts beautifully with the off-white matrix block. The bug is nicely centered on the natural plate of limestone. This is a very displayable example of one of the most sought-after types of Russian trilobites.
