Here is a fine specimen of an unusual Lichid trilobite. This is Lobopyge sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This 3-dimensional bug is almost perfectly prone and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The flaring genal spines are beautifully displayed and even the stalked eyes are intact. The thick-shelled, ebony-colored trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. It is well presented on the somewhat rounded plate of dense limestone. This is a pleasing specimen of this ornate trilobite from Morocco.
