Here is a very "clean and crisp" specimen of Elrathia kingi from the Cambrian of Utah. Even though this species of trilobite is one of the most common, specimens like this are not found everytime you crack the rock with the hammer. This complete trilobite exhibits great detail and is wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The glossy black trilobite contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. The bug is extremely well centered on the natural plate of shale that also contains another partial trilobite. This is an outstanding example of Elrathia kingi from the Wheeler Formation.
