Here is an extremely rare trilobite. This is Cyrtodechenella sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This is the only specimen of this trilobite that we have ever seen. The bug is very inflated and almost perfectly prone. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. The free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The short genal spines are beautifully displayed and the eyes are easily seen. The ebony-colored trilobite contrasts nicely with the dark brown matrix and it is well positioned on the natural plate. This is an excellent example of this extremely uncommon trilobite.
