Here is a spectacular spiny trilobite from Morocco. This is Dicranurus monstrosus from the Devonian - one of the favorite trilobites of every collector. This type of trilobite has a large, robust pair of curved spines extending upward from the rear of the cephalon and extremely long, thin pleural spines. All of these spines are beautifully displayed on this specimen. This slightly arched trilobite is complete and well articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. This trilobite has been meticulously prepared with the cephalic "horns" and one pair of long pleural spines in a free-standing position. The ebony-colored trilobite contrasts nicely with the lighter-colored matrix. The bug is almost perfectly centered on the large, somewhat rounded block of dense limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of this exotic trilobite from Morocco.
