Here is a very fine example of Coronocephalina jastrowi from the Silurian of China. This type of trilobite has a very small glabella, eleven thoracic segments, and a huge pygidium with many segments. The genal spines are quite long and one pair of pleurons extend into spines. All of these features are nicely displayed on this specimen. This trilobite also has one of the free cheeks present, which is almost unheard of. The bright yellow bug contrasts wonderfully with the grayish matrix. It is well positioned on the semi-rectangular block. This is a very pretty specimen of Coronocephalina from China.
