Here is an unusual plate of trilobites from the Ordovician of Morocco. There are two different trilobites on this slab. These trilobites are totally natural to the plate - no compositing of specimens has taken place. This plate was meticulouly prepared at the EXTINCTIONS prep lab in Walsenburg, Colorado - there is NO RESTORATION to either of the trilobites. Near the top of the plate is a specimen of Ampyx sp. This trilobite is nicely articulated and shows the triangular free cheeks in fine fashion. An unidentified Asaphid-type trilobite is positioned below the Ampyx. This outstretched bug has a very rounded cephalon with short, pointed genal spines, a rounded pygidium, and only eight thoracic segments. The trilobites have great color and contrast and are wonderfully presented on the somewhat rectangular plate of matrix. This is an extremely interesting, multiple trilobite specimen from the Ordovician of Morocco.
