This is a rare trilobite. It is a gorgeous specimen of Odontochile spinifera from the Devonian of Morocco. This unusual species has pustules and nodes covering the entire exoskeleton of the trilobite. This bug is almost perfectly prone and nicely inflated. The trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits superb detail. The pustules of the thick-shelled exoskeleton are quite evident and the long, sweeping genal spines and the short caudal spine are beautifully displayed. The individual lenses of the large, crescent-shaped eyes are almost immaculate. The dark brown trilobite contrasts nicely with the lighter-colored matrix and it is well positioned on the rounded block of limestone. This is an incredible example of this unusual species of Odontochile.
