Here is a spectacular juvenile specimen of Isotelus mafritzi from the Ordovician of Canada. This trilobite is extremely prone and very 3-dimensionally preserved. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits great detail. The long genal spines are complete to the tiny tips and beautifully displayed. The eyes are easily seen protruding above the smooth carapace of the trilobite. The thick, almost black exoskeleton of the bug contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. It is almost perfectly centered on the large, natural plate of limestone. This is an outstanding specimen of a juvenile Isotelus mafritzi from Canada.
