This is a beautiful, large trilobite. It is an unidentified Asaphid trilobite from Morocco. This type is usually found with no shell exoskeleton (skin) or poorly preserved skin. This specimen was microscopically-prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab, and the results are obvious. The bug has excellent shell material preserved. The skin is almost black, much darker than it shows in the photo. The trilobite is also very 3-D on the matrix. This is one of the most striking example of this type we have seen. It is a very collectible example of this large Moroccan trilobite.
