Here is a very nice U.S. trilobite. This is a rare complete specimen of Olenellus terminatus from the Lower Cambrian of Nevada. The trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. The large crescent-shaped eyes are easily seen and even the "tail spine" is intact. The dark color of the bug contrasts nicely with the yellowish matrix. It is well presented on a large, semi-rectangular plate of shale. The counterpart (although not pictured) is also present. Doug acquired this specimen several years ago and it has been in his collection ever since. This is a great example of this scarce species of Olenellus.
