This is a very rare Asaphid trilobite. It is an Asaphus delphinus from Russia. This is one of the few nice ones of these we have ever seen. It is easy to see the differences between this type and the more common Russian asaphids - especially in the cephalon. The trilobite has great natural color and detail. The bug is unusually centered on the natural matrix block, with a cystoid (Echinosphaerites sp.) on the top of the plate. And this trilobite is guaranteed to be natural - NOT COMPOSITED on the matrix. This is a very collectible Russian Asaphid trilobite.
