This is a very displayable spiny trilobite. It is a Kettneraspis williamsi from Oklahoma. This specimen has been prepared with the genal spines free-standing. Specimens like this were nicknamed "Flying Leos" back when this type was called Leonaspis. This specimen is complete with the genal spines, stalked eyes, and occipital spine prepared free-standing. The trilobite has fine detail and great natural color and contrast. The bug is well-centered on the large block of matrix. This trilobite was found by Steve Hess in 1995, and was just now prepared. This is a very displayable example of a classic "Flying Leo".
