Here is a nice example of Metacanthina barrandei from the Devonian of Morocco. This bug is extremely 3-dimensional and nicely articulated. The slightly arched bug has very thick exoskeleton and exhibits good detail. The long, wide genal spines are clearly defined and the tips of the genal spines have been prepared in a free-standing manner. Most of the individual lenses of the large compound eyes are easily seen. The individual thoracic segments are quite evident and the pygidial lappets are intact. The black trilobite contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. It is well positioned on the rounded block of limestone. This is a very affordable specimen of Metacanthina barrandei from the Atlas Mountains.
