This is a VERY RARE pair of US trilobites. It is a double Homotelus florencevillensis from Iowa. This type is MUCH rarer than the Homotelus found in Oklahoma. There was one small pocket of these bugs found years ago, and it was quickly dug out. These trilobites are large and nicely inflated. They are both facing the same direction and are so close together they actually touch! They are nicely centered on a large limestone block, which makes for a great display. The caramel-colored trilobites contrast beautifully with the buff-colored matrix. This is a very collectible pair of trilobites from the Midwestern United States.
