Here is a great trilobite from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This is Huntonia lingulifer from the Haragan Formation. This species of Huntonia has a long caudal spine which is wonderfully displayed on this specimen. The slightly arched trilobite is exceptionally 3-dimensional and wonderfully preserved. It has been painstakingly prepared to exhibit the fine detail of the bug. The large, compound eyes are exceptional - the individual lenses are easily seen. The sweeping genal spines have been prepared in a free-standing manner for optimal display. The cephalic process is nicely exhibited and the individual pleurons terminate in sharp points. The thick, caramel-colored exoskeleton of the trilobite contrasts nicely with the cream-colored matrix. The fossil arthropod is beautifully peerched on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a specimen that is much better in person than what the picture shows. This is a superb example of this "long-tailed" Huntonia.
