This is an unusual Phacops trilobite. It is a Phacops cristata from Pennsylvania. This specimen is complete, with the head curled under. The thick shell exoskeleton is beautifully preserved, and the compound eyes still have the facets intact. The bug sits atop a nice matrix base. This is a fine example of a Lower Devonian Phacops from Pennsylvania.
