Here is a very interesting multiple trilobite plate. This large matrix block exhibits two outstretched examples of Isotelus mafritzi from the Ordovician of Canada. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 1993 and just now prepared. Both trilobites are inflated and wonderfully articulated. All of the genal spines are nicely displayed. The hypostoma or mouthplate of the larger trilobite is exposed on the dorsal side of the specimen - this is highly unusual. The light spot on the larger trilobite is not restoration - it is the natural color of the trilobite. The bugs contrast nicely with the gray matrix. The fossils are well positioned on the large plate. This is a very fine multiple Isotelus specimen from Canada.
