Here is a gorgeous specimen of Labiostria westropi from the Upper Cambrian of Canada. This trilobite is very prone and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. This bug exhibits incredible detail. The long pleural spines are extremely well defined. Usually, these trilobites are found in concretions. This specimen shows the trilobite in the concretion - however, the concretion is still encased in a block of shale. The black fossil contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. It is well positioned on the semi-rectangular block. This is one of the pretttiest examples of Labiostria we have ever had.
