This is a large, enrolled trilobite. It is a Drotops megalomanicus from Morocco. This type is one of the most impressive enrolled trilobites in the world. This specimen is a full three inches wide, and well over five inches long around the curve. The thick shell exoskeleton is beautifully preserved, and the reddish highlights are natural. The trilobite is not completely enrolled, giving it a "Pac-Man" look. The compound eyes are intact, but the facets are not perfectly preserved. But the overall detail of the bug is excellent. And the impressive size is easily seen in the photo of the bug in the hand. This is a wonderful enrolled example of this massive Moroccan trilobite.
