This is a nice, unusual trilobite. It is a Comura cometa from Morocco. There are two types of C. cometa, and we think this is the "Type A", or "Type 1". This specimen was acquired form the famous Valverde Fossil Collection. The trilobite is complete and nicely outstretched. The reticulated surface of the thick shell exoskeleton is easily seen. The sharply-pointed tailspines are well showcased. The bug is very 3-D and displays wonderfully on the oval matrix block. This is a good example of this unusual type of Comura.
