You may have seen a double Dalmanites before, but not like this one! This is a super quality double Dalmanites limulurus from New York. This specimen was prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab (can you tell?) This plate is fully natural - they lay on the plate exactly where they died millions of years ago. They are facing the same direction on the plate (NE), which makes for an aesthetic display. Both trilobites are beautiful, but the larger one on the right is simply awesome. Both specimens have great compound eyes preserved - the individual facets are EASILY seen. We collected these layers for many years, and we know a good Dalmanites when we see one. Well, here are two!
