Here is an unusual Trinucleid trilobite. This is Trinucleus abruptus from the Ordovician of Wales. This type has a very narrow, pitted cephalic border. This trilobite is wonderfully outstretched and exhibits fine detail. The large glabella of this blind trilobite is very pronounced. The individual thoracic segments are well defined and the triangular pygidium is intact. The fossil has good color and contrast. It is nicely centered on the natural plate of matrix. This is a very fine example of this unique Trinucleid trilobite from Wales.
