Name:
Comptonaspis swallowi, Ameropiltonia lauradanae Age: Mississippian Formation: Chouteau Formation Location: Saline County, Missouri Size: Plate is 1.5 inches wide, Comptonaspis is 0.7 inches long Price:SOLD
This is an extremely rare multiple plate of different Mississippian trilobites. There is a rare, complete Ameropiltonia lauradanae and a RARER prone Comptonaspis swallowi on the rock. The ornate Ameropiltonia is just covered with pustules, while the distinct Comptonaspis is smooth and devoid of any ornimentation. Both bugs are very well preserved - the brown color of the trilobites contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored grey matrix. The distinct trilobites are well showcased on the squared limestone plate. This is an extremely rare and very collectible association of TWO highly uncommon trilobites from the Mississippian of Missouri.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
