Here is a rare, outstretched example of Flexicalymene meeki from the Ordovician of Ohio. This specimen was found years ago in Monroe, Ohio, and just now prepared. This is not the more common Flexicalymene retrorsa, it is a true Flexicalymene meeki. This very large trilobite is extremely inflated and beautifully articulated. The thick-shelled exoskeleton of the bug is very complete, and the free cheeks are intact and easily seen. The dark brown trilobite contrasts beautifully with the blue-grey matrix. The finely detailed bug is well showcased on the very large, natural block of shale - what a cool display! This is a top quality example of Flexicalymene meeki from this very obscure locality.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
