This is a very, VERY spiny trilobite. It is the very strange trilobite, Cyphaspides sp, from the Jorf locality in Morocco. This type of trilobite has spines, longer spines. AND even longer spines! This prone specimen showcases these features beautifully. The inflated trilobite has been painstakingly prepared as a cross section under a microscope. The LONG spines are quite impressive, but it is the delicate preservation, such as the hair-thin tailspines, that make this bug a keeper. This is another cool, new trilobite from Morocco that we are proud to offer.
