Name:
Elrathia kingi Age: Middle Cambrian Formation: Wheeler Shale Location: Millard County, Utah Size: Trilobite is 1 inch long Price:$89.00
Here is a very unusual trilobite with an interesting story to tell. This is a large Elrathia kingi from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. The distinct trilobite exhibits fine detail and nice natural color. Now comes the story - the right side of the trilobite exhibits a large, clearly defined bite mark! The predator was probably an Anomalocaris, the T. rex of the Cambrian seas. Did this bite cause the trilobite to die? - we will never know for sure. There are also two rare agnostids, Baltagnostus eurypyx, on the plate. This is a very fine example of predation amongst organisms of the Cambrian Sea.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
