Asaphus (Neoasaphus) punctatus Age: Middle Ordovician Formation: Asery Level Location: Near St. Petersburg, Russia Size: Trilobite is 3.5 inches long Price:$395.00
Here is a fabulous specimen of Asaphus (Neoasaphus) punctatus from the Ordovician of Russia. This large trilobite is extremely well articulated and is almost perfectly prone. The bug is quite inflated and very symmetrical in appearance. Note the large, stalked eyes - a defining feature of this species. The rich, caramel-brown color of the trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the white-tan matrix. The fossil is almost perfectly centered on the sculpted limestone block. This is a beautiful example of this classic stalk-eyed trilobite from Russia.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
