This is a very nice spiny trilobite. It is a very large Leonaspis (Odontopleura) from Bolivia. This type used to be called ''Leonaspis'', but it has now been named ''Odontopleura''. This specimen is very well articulated, which is quite unusual for this type. The bug has great detail preserved, and the distinct spines are well displayed. The trilobite is nicely showcased on the block of silver-grey shale. This is an excellent example of this rare, spiny Bolivian trilobite.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
